Ladies, how do you actually feel when you are having menstrual cramps? It’s painful and uncomfortable. Most women experience menstrual cramps, it’s not easy. Some ladies barely make it to work or school, some usually waste the whole day lying down in pain and make nothing productive at the end of the day.
Have you sat to think about this? Have ever thought of the fact that your diet could be the reason why you are having painful cramps?
This post is to let you know the kinds of foods to avoid and the kinds of foods that will reduce the cramps. A friend told me sometime that her cramps feel like satan’s wife is twisting a knife inside her uterus LOL. You do not want to be her. Try and eat these foods and also know which ones to avoid in this time to reduce the pain. Stick to low in sugar, natural fruits and veges to make you feel okay in this time.
FOODS THAT REDUCE MENSTRUAL CRAMPS
If you don’t love bananas, then ladies start loving them because you will surely need them sometime to come, and it works! Cramps are usually caused by sugar and other sweet foods we take in this time but dear, try taking bananas its sweet but natural
2. COCONUT WATER
My mum added this to my list, lol. Coconut water helps you stay hydrated. Taking in coconut water can also reduce menstrual cramps.
Yes water! You must stay hydrated. Take in water regularly to reduce the pain but, avoid chilled water, it will rather increase the pain.
4. GREEN LEAFY VEGETABLES
Vegeeeesssss…. I know some ladies hate the sound of this but girl, you got to try it. cook with spinach or lettuce, it will reduce the pain plus it is healthy.
Its rich in omega 3 which helps reduce cramps. Avoid meat and other dairy products.
6.PINEAPPLE AND PAWPAW
Pineapple and pawpaw are naturally sweet and delicious, yeah I know in this time you craving something sweet but hun, get you pineapple or pawpaw and reduce the pain.
7. DARK CHOCOLATE
Yes I saved the best for last lol. Dark chocolate. You may crave chocolate, take in dark chocolate instead of the other types. It helps relax the muscles and reduce the pain. It is healthy, it has less fat and sugar. So take in dark chocolate to reduce the cramps.
FOODS TO AVOID
Avoid anything sugar, it triggers the pain.
2. DAIRY PRODUCTS
These foods should also be avoided, they increase the pains.
3. SALT AND SPICY FOODS
Try and take in foods that has less spices and salt.
Caffeine will worsen the pain, try and avoid caffeine. Take in water instead.
5. AVOID JUNK FOODS
This is what we usually craaaaavvvve!!! but try and overcome this temptation lol. Avoid junk foods
Reduce the intake of oil.
