Coughs can be very irritating and disruptive. Most coughs are a reaction to an environment allergen,toxin or pollutant. It can also be a side effect of certain medications or a symptom of an illness.

Avoid eating cold foods
Try and avoid cold foods and drinks when you have cough, don’t even attempt chilled water.
2. Don’t take in caffeinated beverages
It is good to take in more fluids or drinks to add moisture to your throat when you have cough, but make sure the beverage you take in has no caffeine,it causes inflammation. Caffeinated beverages like coffee and energy drinks must be avoided.
3. Dairy Products
Dairy products should be avoided,it stimulates excess mucus. Products like milk must be eliminated from your diet if you have a cough.
4. Avoid some meals like Kenkey and Rice. It worsens the cough.

Pour a teaspoon of honey in a half glass of warm water and add a teaspoon of lemon. This helps to reduce the coughs. You can also add ginger to the solution.
